I had this fantastic idea of me boogieing in my underpants in space but then I realized that all of my underpants are black. Space, also black. I could have photoshopped something, but I kind of liked the idea of my spaceship stickers attached to black foamboard. I have a blue corset. It's shiny and dark and also broken in the back, but usable as a prop. So I was hoping it would show up better. It does show up better than my boogieing bottom did. It isn't what I envisioned. But I like it anyway.

I live very close to Mount Pilatus and when the wind goes into the right direction, I can hear the alpine herdsmen sing the "Alpsegen" down to Lucerne. I heard it this evening, and it sounded so archaic that for a short moment I thought I lived in the 14th century. I love the mountains.

Hawks. She said that the sound we heard was hawks, and that if you look up at just the right time you can actually see them flying around.

The only wildlife I usually encounter are skunks. The occasional deer. And the odd pack of coyote at four in the morning, early enough they can't quite decide if it's worth it to eat me.

But around Kimmy's house, there are hawks. Real birds of prey, real animals that hunt and kill. Something affirming about things that kill. Weird, but true.
